Inside
Living room
Part of the converted barn, the living room is built around a wood burner set against a slate wall. Windows look out over the garden on one side and Harter Fell on the other. There's a sofa bed, plenty of comfy chairs, a small hi-fi and a cupboard full of games and puzzles.
Dining room
Doubles as a second sitting room — ideal for breakfast while you check the weather. Open fire, original slate floor (well covered with rugs), more comfy chairs and a Bluetooth speaker.
Kitchen
Everything you need: an electric cooker with oven, hob and grill, extractor, fridge-freezer, microwave, coffee machine and even a bread maker. Cupboards are stocked with staples, and there's full crockery and cutlery.
Bedrooms & bathroom
The first bedroom has a double bed, dressing table and built-in cupboards, plus a lovely view first thing in the morning. The second is larger, with free-standing wardrobes and a dressing table. The bathroom, in the extension, has a combined bath and shower — perfect after a day on the fells.
Outside
Garden
A secluded garden with a table and seating looking across to Harter Fell, a patio, and private parking for two cars. There's also an outside washroom with a second loo, washing machine and sink.
On the doorstep
A track right behind the cottage leads onto the Walna Scar Road and up to the Old Man of Coniston — and then there's the rest of the Lakes.
